VISA - CROSS-BORDER LABOUR MOBILITY AGENCY
Funding stream:
Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme 2014 - 2020
Short description:
The main objective of the project was to foster employment and labour mobility within the Romanian – Bulgaria CBC area through establishing of a one-stop-shop for providing practical and dedicated information and services.
The project addressed several common challenges of the CBC region starting from the lack of information for the main factors impeding labour mobility, through to lack of specific services and lack of institutions to support personal capacity for CBC employment.
As a result of the project BRCCI established, promoted and sustained a permanent specialized structure - CBC Labour Mobility Agency (VISA Agency), located in Ruse (Bulgaria), with a satellite office in Slatina (Romania).
Institutional and capacity building of the Agency was the core activity of the project which aims to provide various information, consultation and training services to both employers and job seekers, but also to all other organizations on a national or regional level that deal with employment. A series of events were held within the project among which public information sessions, short-term trainings, pilot actions “Let’s commute”, etc. Several practical tools were elaborated and are open for use by all interested parties, e.g. a job searching tool, a guide for commuters and info map for cross-border mobility. A licensed Vocational Training Centre was established as a result of the project which now operates as a department within BRCCI.
BRCCI was the leader of this initiative which was implemented in partnership with The Association for Sustainable Development in Slatina, Romania.
Period of implementation: April 2017 – April 2019
