The Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavonic Alphabet, 24 May is celebrated officially by the Bulgarians in Romania

The Romanian Parliament announced by a law May 24 for Day of Bulgarian language in Romania. The credit is on the Banat Bulgarians.

The idea is of the deputy Nikolai Mirkovic, who in 2014 submitted a proposal to the Romanian Parliament May 24 to be celebrated as the Day of Bulgarian language in Romania. The Romanian President decree was published on May 6-th this year in their State Gazette.

The first celebration of the Day of the Bulgarian language in Romania coincided with the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Banat Bulgarian spelling by the teacher Jozo Rhyl.
