In December of last year, the average gross salary in Bulgaria went over 500 euro, according to NSI (National Statistical Institute) data. This is a growth of 3.9% in comparison to November 2016. At the same time, there is also an economic growth of 3.4% and a decrease in unemployment by 6.7%.
The economic sectors with the highest salary increase in the last quarter of the year are education – 12.6% growth and real estate trading – 7.3% growth. The economic sectors with the lowest salaries in Bulgaria remain the same: the hotel and restaurant industry (309 euro), administrative and subsidiary activities (383 euro) and construction (393 euro).
