Romania remains an attractive location for companies interested in shoring operations, according to a new study of the the region from Jones Lang LaSalle. However, whereas before the majority of outsourcing to Romania was for call center type services, more recently companies have started to locate a wider range of activities in the country, including business process outsourcing (BPO), knowledge process outsourcing (KBO), information technology operations and research and development.
Romania ranks 9-th in the world and 3-rd in Europe for outsourcing projects started up in the period 2008-2012. Romania has attracted 40 outsourcing projects that created over 11,400 work places..
