Labor mobility between Bulgaria and Romania has development perspectives

The first group of Bulgarians, interested in the opportunities to work in the counties of Olt and Dolj, visited the biggest companies in Slatina, Bals and Craiova. During their visit in Romania between July 24th and 26th, the group of 10 people, who are either unemployed or ready to change their professional carrer, had the opportunity to talk directly with the employers and to gain personal impressions about the labor conditions there.

During the three days, the future cross-border workers met with big Romanian companies in the automotive industry and manufacturing of metal and aluminum parts and articles, such as BEKAERT, FORD Romania, IAC, ALITECHNIC and ALRO. The companies presented their activities in detail, discussed the opportunities of hiring cross-border workers and showed a big part of the production process for their products.

It was very interesting for the Romanian employers to receive information from the VISA Agency team about some aspects of the labor legislation in Bulgaria, as well as to communicate in Romanian with most of the people from the group.

This is the second exchange visit within project „VISA – Cross-border Labour Mobility Agency“, financed through Programme Interreg V-A Romania– Bulgaria, which is implemented by Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Association for Regional Development, Slatina. At the beginning of July, 10 Romanians from Slatina and Craiova visited leading companies in Ruse and the region and received first-hand information about the labor and life conditions in the Ruse region – renting an accommodation, travelling across the border and within the country, medical care, educational and social institutions etc.
