The Bulgarian and Romanian currencies can now be exchanged in Serbia

The Bulgarian lev (BGN) and the Romanian leu (RON) can now be exchanged at Serbia’s exchange bureaus as a result of a decision by the National Bank of Serbia. They will be included in the list of foreign currencies that banks will be able to trade in. This decision aims to have a positive influence and stimulate the realization of common economic projects between the three countries.

The decision of the National Bank of Serbia is based on the growing importance of Bulgaria and Romania in the country’s foreign trade, as well as on the increased potential for development of economic cooperation with these countries. Another major reason is the constant increase in the number of Bulgarian and Romanian tourists in Serbia.
