LABOUR COST INDEX IN ROMANIA

QUARTER II 2014

For correct interpretation of results, please consult the Methodological note from page 3 of the press release. In Quarter II 2014, the adjusted hourly labour cost (working days adjusted) registered an increase rate of 3.70% by comparison with the previous quarter and of 4.99% by comparison with the same quarter of the previous year. As against the same periods of reference, the non-adjusted hourly labour cost varied insignificantly compared to the adjusted form (3.58%, respectively 4.97%).

Quarter II 2014 compared to Quarter I 2014

Compared to Quarter I 2014, the hourly labour cost (working days adjusted) increased in the majority of economic activities. The most significant increases were recorded in mining and quarrying (15.77%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (13.42%) and financial and insurance activities (10.36%).
