Today is March 1st – a holiday, which is known in Bulgaria as Baba Marta. On this day, people gift each other “martenitsa” – a small ornament, made from interwoven white and red threads. Romanians gift each other such ornaments as well – they call them „mărţişor”. The red thread symbolizes blood and life, the white – cleanliness and happiness.
We congratulate everyone with the holiday and wish them longevity, health and much happiness.
Happy March 1st!
