BRCCI presented project “VISA – Agency for Cross-Border Mobility” at the youth forum “Dialogue with young people – a pledge for change” on November 29th in Silistra, where over 60 young people aged 16-29 were gathered. The event was organized for the fifth consecutive year in a row by the Municipality of Silistra in partnership with Association “Parallel Silistra” and was held in the ARGI center.
The presentation of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was devoted to the possibility of finding a job in the cross-border region Bulgaria-Romania. The Chair of BRCCI, Mrs. Eleonora Ivanova, shared her experience as an employer. The youngsters actively participated in the discussion, talking about the need for different skills, including fluency in Romanian.
During the forum, the methodology for discussing important issues – “Time4tea” (Tea Time) was presented, in which the youngsters would come up with a message that they would creatively send to a leader chosen by them. What the youngsters want from him is to spend 5 minutes with a nice cup of tea and read and think about their important message.
The BRCCI team was a moderator of the working group discussing social entrepreneurship. Participants talked about the risks of being an entrepreneur, career development, participation in local self-government, and other issues. The participants were proactive and full of ideas on the issues of attracting and keeping young people to study and work in the area. It was a real pleasure for the BRCCI team to work with such young people. We are considering applying the methodology during the visits in the framework of project Visa.
