On 28 November 2017, a meeting between the leadership of the Regional Employment Service Directorate – Ruse, representatives of the European Employment Services Network – EURES and experts from the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held in Ruse.
The new initiative of the Chamber – “VISA – Agency for Cross-Border Labor Mobility” – a project financed by INTERREG V-A Romania-Bulgaria, in which the Chamber is a leading beneficiary along with Agency for Sustainable Development – Slatina, was presented at the meeting. Through the Visa Agency, the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides new types of services for the development of a cross-border labor market.
Mrs. Laura Sarkisian, PR for the BRCCI project, introduced the need to set up the Agency for Cross-Border Mobility, taking into account the barriers that the business encounters when it needs to hire workers from the neighboring country. Representatives of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber also underlined that the newly created Visa Agency will actively work in the implementation of the organization’s mission to support the interactions between the business structures in the two countries.
The first study of cross-border labor mobility between Bulgaria and Romania was presented, which will be published on the website of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The survey presents new data on employment prospects, obstacles and opportunities for labor mobility between the two countries, with an emphasis on the eight Bulgarian regions and the seven Romanian districts of the cross-border region.
