On May 29th 2017, in the Danube Plaza hotel in Ruse, a discussion meeting, which was related to the Danube shipping and navigation problems, was conducted. The discussion was organized by Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the framework of project “DANTE – Improving the administrative procedures and processes related to the Danube waterway transport”.
Representatives of private companies, state institutions and other stakeholders took part in the meeting and shared their point of view on the biggest administrative obstacles standing in the way of the transportation of goods and people on the river. Part of the organizations-participants in the event were Regional Administration – Ruse, Customs – Ruse, Border Police, Directorate „River Supervision” – Ruse, Bulgarian River Cluster „Dunav”, Executive Agency „Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River” etc. Two presentations were made on the subject: one from Mr. Manfred Seitz, who is the General Secretary of Pro Danube International – leading partner of project DANTE, and the other – from captain Ivan Jekov Ivanov from Directorate „River Supervision” – Ruse.
